About this game
Each name in your class list goes on a sheep in the field. The sheepdog runs round behind one sheep at a time and chases it through the gate of a pen. The name tag turns that pen's colour as the sheep sets off, so the class can see where it's going before it gets there.
As each sheep goes in, its name is added to the card above the pen. When the last one is in, the groups come up as a big list you can read from the back of the room.
How it works
- Paste the names, one per line. The list is remembered for next time.
- Choose how many groups, or how many people in each. Group sizes never differ by more than one.
- Press Herd them into groups and watch the dog work. Skip to the end if you're short on time.
- Press Mix again for new groups from the same names, or Copy as text to paste them into a document.
Good for
- Group work, stations and team games
- Picking partners without arguments about who chose whom
- Mixing the class up at the start of a new unit
