About this game
A frog sits on a row of lily pads, one pad for each number on the line. The class calls out orders such as "forward 8, back 3". You tap them in, press Go, and the frog hops one mark at a time while the class counts along.
Each jump is drawn over the pads with its size, +8 or −3, and the sum is written at the top: 2 + 8 − 3 = 7. If an order would take the frog off the end of the line, it falls in the water and climbs back to where that order started.
Start with 0 to 10. Later lines go below zero and count in halves and tenths, so "back 0.4" is four small hops.
Three games
- Catch the fly. A fly waits over one number. The class works out the orders that land the frog right under it.
- Where will it land? The game shows a start and the orders. The class guesses where the frog ends up, you tap their guess, then everyone watches.
- Free hopping. No fly. Tap a number to put the frog there and try any orders you like.

- Counting on and counting back
- Adding and subtracting on a number line
